A Really Good Interstate Rate

If you use the phone much, you absolutely need a good rate. Now you can have the rate you need and deserve. How does less than 5 cents a minute sound? Sound good?

I don’t know what your rate will be. That depends on how much long distance you do. We have a slick little computer that wil find you the best offers. When I ran my typical phone bills through it, it was like magic.

I now pay only 2 1/2 cents a minute!

A Really Good In-State Rate

This is the hidden penalty of many long distance services. In-state rates may be much higher than interstate rates. Check your phone bill and see what you’re really paying. Then compare that rate to the one we’ve found. You’re doing business in-state, too. Right?

When I compared the rate my big-name carrier was giving me, I was amazed. It was nearly three times what I found through this service.

Personal Toll-Free Numbers

Why would you need a personal toll-free number? So you can call home when you travel. So the kids can call home from college. So the grown-up kids can call home.

Why would you need multiple toll-free numbers? Personal toll-free numbers are easier to use than calling cards, and they should be cheaper… but they’re not always. I had one through one of the major carriers… they wanted 30 cents a minute! And I could get only one number.

Free Accounting Codes to simplify separation of personal and business calls

Do you make business calls from home, and the office is supposed to reimburse you? Is it a hassle to keep track of which calls to put on your reimbursement claim? I always hated was going through phone bills, marking which ones were business, adding them up and charging the appropriate calls to the business.

Then I discovered “account codes,” (sometimes called PAC or Program Account Codes) which required me to press a two digit code after dialing each call.

Then, when the bill arrives, it’s already separated and sub-totaled by code! Now my tax accounting is so much better. And I discovered that my business write-off was greater too, because designating the business calls when you make them is much more accurate than trying to remember later when the bill comes in.

Set up as many codes as you need in case you want to separate charges for certain projects or clients. After you sign up, just call customer service and ask for “2-digit non-verified account codes.” (If you think you need more than 100 codes, get three digit codes. I only use two codes, business and personal.)

Do you like getting good rates only some of the time? It sure seems silly, after all, it’s the same phone call. I don’t want to be penalized by paying a higher rate during the day when I have to make the calls. Watch for this.

Fair Minimum and No Hocus Pocus!

Most companies want a minimum monthly expenditure to give you a decent rate. I don’t care if it’s $25, $50, $100, $200, or whatever. I don’t like the idea. Why promise it if you don’t have to? What if you want to take the summer off? Hardly any calls. You get hit with the minimum. Yucch!

The plan I’m on charges me a small fee if my bill goes under $20. (But my bill never goes under $20!)

Some plans have a minimum, some don’t.

Look through the plans our computer system offers; different carriers have different plans. Some have minimums, some don’t. Some, like mine, tack on a little fee if you don’t reach the minimum. Some go ahead and charge the minimum. Read the fine print!
