Calling Card Long Distance Telephone Solutions
Save up to 61 cents a minute!
How do you place a call when you’re on the move? Some cards still hit you for 15 cents a minute. We’ve found cards as low as a penny a minute, with no connect fee.
Yes, that’s right. Just a PENNY a Minute!
And no connect fees. Wow!
We’ve found lots of different cards you can choose, each has different features.
Here’s How I saved 61 cents a minute with one card!
Our son was in Kuwait, and our local phone company wanted 67 cents a minute to call him. I found a card at 13 cents a minute. Big savings!
Then I found a phone card at 6 cents a minute and no other fees.
Any catches? Yes, one. It expires 90 days after first use. More about that later.
Continental US cards as low as a penny a minute
We also found a card that’s only a penny a minute, with no connect fee.
What’s the catch?
Most cards do have a catch. So read the fine print.
Are you listening here?
I’ll repeat. “Most cards have a catch.”
It’s worth it! You don’t want to be caught in a bad deal, so read the fine print. You can find some really good deals, but you have to pay attention.
Some of the things to watch for:
A connect fee. This is charged in addition to the per minute fee on every call you place. Even if you get an answering machine and hang up. I don’t like these at all, unless they’re really low. Like a penny.
A minimum call length. Typically 18 seconds, or a minute. Some cards may be longer: two minutes, even five minutes, or more. That may be a bad deal. After all, sometimes, no one is home.
Billing increments. Six seconds is great, but at these low rates full minute billing is usually okay, too. Anything longer, you may pay for a lot more time than you use.
Monthly or weekly fees. If you make lots of calls, it might be okay to pay a fee in return for a really low rate.
Expiration. Do the minutes expire. How soon? Will you use them in time? If not, the unused time is like money thrown away.
Any of these “catches” can be okay if it fits your needs and use of phone service.
The penny a minute card I found expired in 90 days. That’s okay, as long as I use it.
Do you actually get a card?
No.
Unlike the calling cards at the convenience store, which usually have pretty art on them, with these “cards” all you get is calling information. You can write that on a card if it makes you feel better.
This helps the card companies give you a lower price. That’s a good thing!
